Mission
It is the mission of the Annandale Ambassador Program to develop, mentor and support positive role models who will promote the community.
Overview
The Miss Annandale Ambassador Program has been in existence since 1956 and is a scholarship program for young women in the Annandale community. The mission of the program is “to develop, mentor and support positive role models who will promote the community.” We have created a slate of events that candidates participate in to help develop communication skills (interviewing, public speaking, small group, etc.) and poise, all while learning more about their community and themselves.
Description
Candidates participate in events from April through July. Three candidates are then chosen by a panel of independent judges to represent Annandale for an additional year as Miss Annandale or an Annandale Princess. During their year as Annandale Ambassadors, these young women travel to surrounding communities and throughout the state to attend local festivals on Annandale’s behalf. Additionally, Miss Annandale and the Annandale Princesses participate in many events in our own community events. The Ambassadors are awarded a scholarship at the end of their year of service.
